Human Intervention

The series witnesses the presence of the fifth element: us, humans, and our struggle of putting the nature into the service of our comfort, which, beyond any potential metaphysical endeavor, unfortunately, makes us who we really are.

The preference for the construction sites and the smaller achievements – such as a simple, almost innocent gas pipe, or an electricity pole conquered back by nature – is meant to emphasize the lie we like to tell ourselves. That what we do is positive, progressive and innovative, that changing the landscape is a sacrifice we must take for the greater good.

Making a trip to the wastelands to take the portraits of the people ultimately affected by our great success of making the earth our yellow bricks road, that would have been too obviously put.
